Mills and Agra Headquarters

This innovative and award-winning glass façade, which doesn’t have a single visible screw or bolt, allows for more daylight and visibility in the newly renovated Mills and Agra headquarters. The design also increases the safety of those travelling through the park – the glass fins glow in the dark!
Mills and Agra have been located at Sofienberggata 19 for over 130 years. When product manufacturing was moved to Fredrikstad, the old factory in Grünerløkka underwent a complete rehabilitation. ELEMENT developed a new façade that opened up the deep and expansive floorplans to bring in more daylight, creating a view of the street outside while also illuminating the darkened Sofienberg Park. The design accentuates Mills and Agra’s brand identity in an elegant, stave-free glass fin design. Many of the fins have two-way mirrors that both reflect light into the space and maximize the outward view. From the outside the fins form abstract patterns, but if one stands in in one particular spot on the street or in the park they shape into Agra’s corporate logo. In the evening the fins evolve into lamps, that help make the park safer for late-night pedestrians.
