Damn Critic!
An architecture critic’s mind – shaped into form!
Damn Critic! is a Scandinavian exhibit consisting of six architectural experiments. The project aims to establish a conversation about the conditions for Scandinavian architectural critique: What constitutes good architecture, and how is quality assessed? Six architecture critics were each invited to write evaluations of imaginary buildings. The texts were then handed to six architecture firms tasked with giving them a spatial answer. ELEMENT's contribution Sections and Fractions gives shape to the criticism, rather than giving shape to the building being criticized. The work is a physical translation of the fragments the critic highlights.
Sections and Fractions is based on Danish architectural historian Martin Søberg's critique Parlour.
